Assisted Living for Elderly Waiver

Medicaid Waiver programs provide services in the community to individuals who would otherwise require nursing home placement. In addition, participants may also be eligible for state plan Medicaid benefits.

The Assisted Living for the Elderly Waiver provides an opportunity for frail persons aged 60 or older, who are at risk of placement in a nursing home and meet medical and financial requirements, to reside in an Assisted Living Facility (ALF).

The ALE Medicaid Waiver program pays for additional assisted living services and case management to eligible recipients living in Assisted Living Facilities to help them to live in the home-like setting of an ALF as long as possible.
